Who We Are
The Montessori School of Long Grove is a small private school founded in 1975 and to date owned by the same family. It has been at its present location on Robert Parker Coffin Road in Long Grove since January of 1977.
Since then, it has grown from one classroom for children ages three to six to a school able to serve the needs of children from the age of ten months through twelve years. From the first class of nine three and four year olds, the school has grown to a current enrollment of 134 students.
The building has undergone several additions in order to house the increased enrollment in well equipped, many-windowed classrooms. The two acre site allows for a large outdoor area with flower gardens, animals, playground equipment, space for games and nature study. The school is located near the center of historic Long Grove which provides an unique opportunity to take advantage of many community resources and the natural beauty of the area.
Mission
"It is the mission of the Montessori School of Long Grove to guide and nurture children in an environment of love, respect, peace and beauty so they will continue into adulthood to be strong, capable and independent."
